thermostaattipää
A thermostatic radiator valve head, or "thermostaattipää" in Finnish, is a temperature-sensitive device that automatically regulates the flow of hot water into a radiator. This regulation aims to maintain a desired room temperature, preventing overheating and conserving energy. The valve head typically consists of a body, a sensor, and a spindle. The sensor contains a liquid or gas that expands and contracts with changes in ambient temperature. As the room warms up, the sensor expands, pushing a pin that closes the valve, reducing the flow of hot water to the radiator. Conversely, as the room cools, the sensor contracts, allowing the pin to retract and open the valve, increasing the water flow.
Thermostatic radiator valve heads are adjustable, allowing users to set their preferred temperature for each room.
