Thalattosaurid is a group of marine reptiles that lived during the Early to Middle Jurassic period, approximately between 175 to 165 million years ago. They belong to the family Thalattosauridae, a distinct group of sauropterygian aquatic reptiles.

These fish-like reptiles were characterized by their elongated bodies, typically reaching lengths of 1 to 3 meters. They had a distinctive combination of tetrapod-like features, such as limbs, and fish-like characteristics, such as gills and a streamlined body. Their skulls were relatively short, with prominent ridges on the snout and on top of the skull. Some species had more robust and club-shaped tails, potentially used for swimming and maneuverability.
