Programmable thermostats allow users to set different temperature schedules for different times of the day or week, leading to potential energy savings. Smart thermostats go a step further, often connecting to home Wi-Fi networks, allowing for remote control via smartphone apps and learning user preferences over time. The primary function of all thermostats, regardless of type, is to maintain a consistent and comfortable temperature.
