In German-language sources, termogramm commonly refers to a thermogram, i.e., an image produced by thermography that encodes surface temperatures as colors on a two-dimensional plane. A thermogram is generated by infrared sensors and displays heat distribution across an object or body segment. These images are used in medical contexts to evaluate skin temperature patterns, in industrial and electrical inspections to detect hot spots, and in building diagnostics to identify heat losses. The termgram itself typically also relates to the color scale and the acquired temperature data, which can be analyzed to quantify hotter and cooler regions.
