Teratogeenseid is an extinct genus of trilobite that lived during the Cambrian Period, approximately 520-500 million years ago. The name "teratogeenseid" means " Teratogeens-shaped" or "giant Teratogeens", referring to the genus's similarity in shape to the trilobite Teratogeens. The fossil records of this genus are found in the geologic formations of Greenland and other parts of the world.

Teratogeenseid trilobites were characterized by their distinct size and shape. They were larger than other trilobites of the time, reaching lengths of up to 16 centimeters. Their bodies were also more robust, with prominent eyes and a distinctive cephalic adontous structure. The pre-ocular and post-ocular areas were densely fractured, which provided additional strength to the exoskeleton. The length of their free thorax and free abdomen varied, but they tended to have shorter appendages.

Teratogeenseid fossils have provided valuable insights into the evolutionary history and ecological dynamics of the Cambrian Period. Research suggests that trilobites, including Teratogeenseid, developed unique adaptations in response to the changing environmental conditions of the time. Fossil data suggests that larger trilobites may have predation relationships with other animals, while smaller trilobites were food for larger animals. The availability of extensive fossil records allows for dynamic interpretations of pre-Cambrian ecological networks, including the adaptive strategies for predator-prey interactions and food webs developed during these periods.
