In templating systems, templatets function similarly to snippets, partials, or fragments. They typically expose parameters that control their content or formatting and may support simple placeholders or small control structures. They can be defined in templates or external files and included by name from other templates. Some engines treat templatets as first-class entities, while others use generic partials with a different naming convention.

Usage and benefits: Templatets promote reuse and consistency, enable easier testing of small UI blocks, and facilitate localization or theming by swapping parameter values. They may also improve maintainability by isolating layout concerns. Potential drawbacks include fragmentation of logic across many small units, confusion over where a piece should be edited, and potential performance overhead if overused without caching or aggregation.

Examples: A templatet greet_block(name) could render “Hello, {{name}}!” A templatet date_label(date) could render “As of {{date}}.” In a Mustache-like syntax: define templatet greet(name) as “Hello, {{name}}!” and include in a template with {{> greet(name) }}.
