It has appeared in novels, role-playing games, and video games within that world and is studied by in-world linguists and fan communities for its distinctive grammar and sound system. The name Teemanti is said to derive from native terms in the lore, loosely connected to concepts of speech and identity.

Teemanti is described as primarily SVO and moderately analytic, with affixal suffixes that encode tense, aspect, mood, and case. Its phonology features five vowels (a, e, i, o, u) and a mid-sized consonant inventory including stops, fricatives, nasals, and approximants, plus a glottal stop. Stress tends to fall on the penultimate syllable. The language favors clear vowel pronunciation in open syllables and maintains vowel length contrasts in certain registers.
