Tarsídeos, also known as tarsiers, are a family of nocturnal primates found primarily in Southeast Asia. There are two main genera of tarsiers: Tarsius and Carlito. Tarsius species are found in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia, while Carlito species are endemic to the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. Tarsiers are insectivorous, feeding primarily on insects and other small invertebrates. They are solitary animals, except during the mating season, and are known for their distinctive calls, which are used for communication and territorial defense.

Tarsiers play an important role in their ecosystems as both predators and prey. They are preyed upon by various birds of prey and snakes, while their diet of insects helps control insect populations. Despite their small size and relatively low abundance, tarsiers are not considered threatened, as their populations are stable and their habitats are not under significant threat. However, habitat loss and fragmentation due to human activities, such as deforestation and agriculture, pose potential risks to tarsier populations in the future. Conservation efforts are ongoing to protect tarsier habitats and ensure the survival of these unique primates.
