Talonumerot are Finnish street numbers used to identify individual buildings along a street. They are an essential part of the Finnish address system, ensuring that mail and emergency services can accurately locate a specific property. Typically, talonumerot are sequential and increase in one direction along a street. Odd numbers are usually found on one side of the street, and even numbers on the other. The numbering usually starts from the beginning of the street, often near a main road or intersection, and continues towards its end.

In some cases, especially in rural areas or areas with fewer buildings, a property might be identified by a so-called "tilusnumero" or "kiinteistötunnus" (real estate identifier) in conjunction with a street name if a formal talonumero has not been assigned. When new buildings are constructed, the municipality will typically assign them the next available number in the sequence on that street.
