Sünnimärke is the Estonian word for birthmark. Birthmarks are common, benign skin blemishes that are present at birth or appear shortly after. However, some birthmarks may be associated with underlying medical conditions, and others may cause cosmetic concerns or pose a risk of complications, such as bleeding or ulceration, especially if they are large or located in areas prone to friction or trauma. In cases where treatment is necessary, options may include laser therapy, surgery, or medication, depending on the type and characteristics of the birthmark.
