In Finland, for instance, the most common type of socket is the Schuko socket (Type F). This type features two round pins and two earth clips on the sides, allowing for earthing. It is also compatible with Europlugs (Type C), which lack an earth connection. Another common type in Finland, though less prevalent for fixed installations, is the Type E socket, which also uses round pins but has a female earth contact hole in the socket and a male earth pin on the plug.

Electrical outlets are typically installed in walls or floors and are connected to the building's electrical wiring system. They are a fundamental component of modern electrical infrastructure, enabling the use of countless appliances and electronic devices in homes, offices, and public spaces.
