Treatment for ligament injuries varies based on severity. Mild sprains may be managed with rest, ice, compression, and elevation (RICE). More severe tears or ruptures might require immobilization with a brace or cast, physical therapy to restore strength and flexibility, and in some cases, surgical repair or reconstruction of the damaged ligament. Recovery time can range from a few weeks to several months.
