A szabályozórendszer, often translated as control system, is a system that manages, commands, directs, or regulates the behavior of other systems. Its primary function is to maintain a desired output or state despite disturbances or variations in the input or environment. These systems are ubiquitous, found in everything from simple household appliances to complex industrial processes and sophisticated aerospace technology.

The fundamental components of a basic feedback control system include a sensor to measure the actual output, a controller that compares the measured output to the desired setpoint and generates a control signal, and an actuator that implements the control signal to influence the system's behavior. The process of monitoring and adjusting the output based on feedback is known as closed-loop control. In contrast, open-loop control systems do not use feedback and operate based on a predetermined sequence of actions, making them less robust to disturbances.

Control systems are designed to achieve stability, ensuring that the system's output does not deviate uncontrollably. They also aim for performance, meaning the system should respond quickly and accurately to changes or demands. Various types of control strategies exist, including proportional, integral, and derivative (PID) control, which are widely used for their effectiveness and relative simplicity. More advanced techniques like fuzzy logic, neural networks, and adaptive control are employed for complex, non-linear, or time-varying systems. The design and analysis of control systems are critical fields within engineering, often utilizing mathematical models to predict and optimize system behavior.
