Sykliajat, from the Finnish sykli meaning cycle and aika meaning time, is a Finnish term used to describe the duration of repeating cycles in a system. It denotes the amount of time that elapses between equivalent points of successive cycles and is commonly synonymous with the concept of period in time-series analysis. The plural form is used when referring to multiple observed cycle durations in a given context.

The term is used across disciplines in Finnish-language literature, including physics, engineering, climatology, biology, and economics, to discuss how long processes take to complete one cycle. In physics and engineering, sykliat correspond to the period of an oscillator, T, with T = 1/f in the simple case, and are expressed in seconds or other time units. In climate science and ecology, they describe intervals of recurring phenomena, such as annual seasonal cycles or longer climatic oscillations identified through spectral methods. In digital electronics, the concept aligns with clock cycles, where the cycle time equals the inverse of the clock frequency.
