Superkierrosta is a fictional term used in Finnish-language science fiction and in popular-science writing to describe a hypothetical rotational phenomenon. In the concept, a system can attain a large net rotation through a sequence of rapid, small rotations around different axes, in a way that appears more efficient than a single sustained rotation. The name is formed from kierros (rotation or round) with the prefix super- and the locative suffix -sta, yielding "the super rotation" or "about the super rotation."

Because it is not part of established physics, superkierrosta functions mainly as a thought experiment or pedagogical device. It is used to illustrate ideas such as angular momentum, non-commutativity of rotations, and precession. In classroom simulations, students model a rotor that receives a sequence of torques about alternate axes to show how orientation can change in non-intuitive ways.

In fiction, the term appears as a plot element to explain rapid reorientation of spacecraft, drones, or robotic arms without breaking energy constraints, highlighting trade-offs and design implications. Since its use is primarily conceptual, it does not imply a real physical mechanism, but it serves to frame discussions about rotational dynamics and control systems.
