Suoraveto, meaning "direct drive" in Finnish, is a term used in the context of mechanical transmissions, particularly in electric vehicles and certain industrial applications. It refers to a system where the motor's output shaft is directly connected to the driven component, such as the wheels of a car or a pump in a factory. This eliminates the need for a traditional gearbox or transmission, which typically uses a series of gears to alter speed and torque.
