Examples include the Norilsk deposit in Russia and the Sudbury Basin in Canada.

Sedimentary-hosted sulfide deposits form in sedimentary basins through various mechanisms, including diagenesis or precipitation from pore fluids. While less common as major ore producers for base metals, some sedimentary environments can host significant deposits of lead and zinc, such as Mississippi Valley-type (MVT) deposits. These deposits are characterized by their occurrence in carbonate rocks and are typically rich in galena and sphalerite.
