Subyears is a term used in time analysis to denote any time interval shorter than a full calendar year. Subyear intervals can be formed from standard calendar units—quarters (three months), halves (six months), and seasons (roughly three months)—or from arbitrary spans defined by a study’s needs, such as 90, 100, or 120 days.
