Subaraknoidaalinen refers to the subarachnoid space, a crucial anatomical region within the protective layers of the central nervous system. This space is located between the arachnoid mater and the pia mater, the two innermost meninges that surround the brain and spinal cord. The subarachnoid space is not a solid compartment but rather a narrow, web-like area filled with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).

Furthermore, the subarachnoid space contains the major blood vessels that supply the brain, such as the arteries and veins.

SAH is a medical emergency characterized by sudden, severe headache, often described as the "worst headache of my life."
