startslutdato

Startslutdato is a Danish term used to describe a time period defined by a starting date and an ending date. It is commonly used in project management, scheduling, and data collection to mark the span during which an activity occurs or a record is valid.

In planning practice, startslutdato may be stored as two separate fields (startdato and slutdato) or as a single period field that includes both dates. The duration can be computed as end date minus start date plus one day if both dates are inclusive.

For calculations, if you know start date S and duration D, then end date E = S + D - 1 (inclusive). If you know end date E and duration D, then start date S = E - D + 1. When computing working days, holidays and weekends may be excluded, requiring a separate calendar.

Applications include project schedules, reporting windows, subscription periods, and other time-bound records. Limitations include time zones, time of day, inclusivity conventions, and calendar variations.
