Spermatogonialis refers to a cell lineage within the seminiferous tubules of the testes that gives rise to mature sperm cells. These cells are the primordial germ cells of the male. Spermatogonialis are diploid cells, meaning they contain two sets of chromosomes. They undergo a process of self-renewal through mitosis to maintain a population of stem cells and also differentiate into cells that will eventually develop into spermatozoa. This differentiation process, known as spermatogenesis, is continuous throughout a male's reproductive life, starting at puberty.
