Soovitusmootoriteni is an Estonian term used to describe recommender systems or recommender engines—the technology that analyzes user data to predict preferences and surface personalized content or items. The term combines soovitus (recommendation) with mootor (engine) and is used in discussions about how these systems are designed, implemented, and evaluated.

A recommender system typically consists of data pipelines, user and item representations, and a ranking component that scores and orders candidates for presentation. Common approaches include collaborative filtering, which uses historical interactions to infer preferences; content-based methods, which rely on item attributes; and hybrid models that combine multiple signals. Applications span e-commerce, media streaming, social platforms, and search systems. Ongoing trends emphasize real-time personalization, context-aware recommendations, fairness and transparency, scalability, and privacy-conscious architectures.
