Skivepumper, also known as rotary vane pumps, are a type of positive displacement pump. They consist of a rotor that rotates within a cylindrical housing, often referred to as a stator or casing. The rotor has slots in which vanes are fitted. These vanes are typically spring-loaded or are able to slide outwards due to centrifugal force. As the rotor spins, the vanes slide out and maintain contact with the inner wall of the housing. This creates multiple, expanding and contracting chambers between the rotor, vanes, and housing.
