Skeppsredare is a historical Swedish term that refers to a shipowner or ship operator responsible for owning and managing a vessel and its commercial activities. In the maritime economies of the early modern period, skeppsredare played a central role in organizing voyages, financing ships, and handling trade operations.

The word combines skepp, meaning ship, with redare, derived from the act of directing or managing a voyage. The role is documented in Swedish maritime records from the 17th to the 19th centuries and was common in major port towns and trading centers within the Swedish realm. Similar concepts existed in neighboring Nordic regions, where shipowners or operators arranged cargoes and routes for commercial purposes.
