A sheeter is a machine or device that converts a continuous input of material into sheets of uniform thickness. The term covers equipment used across several industries, including food production, metalworking, and plastics, where consistent sheet quality is required for further processing or packaging.

In food production, a dough or pastry sheeter rolls dough between paired rollers to a chosen thickness. The thickness is set on a control device, and dough is fed through the rollers by an advancing belt or conveyor. This type of equipment is common in bakeries and pizzerias for items such as pizza dough, puff pastry, fondant, and lasagna sheets, producing sheets of predictable size and texture.

In metalworking and other industrial contexts, sheet sheeters may form or cut sheet material from coils or continuous feeds. They can produce flat metal sheets or convert coil stock into sheets of specified width and thickness, often as part of a larger processing line. Depending on design, metal sheeters may use rotary cutting, guillotine blades, or roller-based flattening to achieve the desired sheet quality.

Other applications include plastics and paper where sheet material is formed to uniform thickness for further manufacturing, packaging, or printing processes. Operators must set thickness parameters accurately, monitor material feed, and maintain safety measures around moving rollers and blades.
