Sensortransduktorlar, commonly referred to as transducers, are devices that convert energy from one form to another. In the context of sensors, they are specifically designed to transform a physical input, such as temperature, pressure, or light, into an electrical output signal. This electrical signal can then be processed, interpreted, or displayed by other electronic components.

The process involves two main stages. First, the sensor element detects and responds to the physical stimulus. This response might be a change in resistance, capacitance, voltage, or another electrical property. Second, the transducer component amplifies, conditions, or converts this initial electrical change into a standardized output signal that is suitable for measurement or control systems. For example, a thermocouple is a sensor-transducer that converts a temperature difference into a millivolt electrical signal.

The output signal from a transducer can be analog, meaning it varies continuously with the input, or digital, representing the input as discrete values. The choice of transducer depends on the specific application, the type of physical quantity being measured, and the required accuracy and range of the measurement. Transducers are fundamental components in a vast array of technologies, from industrial automation and medical devices to consumer electronics and environmental monitoring. They enable us to quantify and interact with the physical world by translating its phenomena into a language that electronic systems can understand.
