Senhorio is a Portuguese term that denotes the person who owns a property and leases it to another, typically referred to as the landlord. In contemporary usage, the senhorio is the party that signs a rental agreement with the tenant (arrendatário) and holds legal responsibility for maintaining the property and complying with tenancy laws. In Portugal, rental arrangements are governed by the regime of urban lease, with contracts specifying rent, duration, renewal terms, and other obligations.

Historically, the term also referred to the lord of a manor within a feudal or seigneurial system, who held jurisdiction and economic rights over a territory. In this sense, senhorio conveys a sense of lordship or seigneurial authority that belonged to medieval or early modern contexts.

In Brazilian Portuguese, the term senhorio exists but is less common in everyday speech. It can be used in formal, legal, or historical contexts to denote a landlord, while more everyday terms include proprietário or locador.
