Sejtstruktúrákra, commonly referred to as cellular structures, are the intricate components within cells that perform specific functions necessary for life. These structures are diverse and vary significantly between different cell types, such as prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, and even within eukaryotic cells, between plant, animal, and fungal cells.

In eukaryotic cells, prominent organelles include the nucleus, which houses the genetic material and controls cellular activities; mitochondria, responsible for energy production through cellular respiration; and the endoplasmic reticulum, involved in protein and lipid synthesis and transport. The Golgi apparatus further modifies, sorts, and packages proteins and lipids. Lysosomes contain digestive enzymes, while vacuoles in plant cells store water, nutrients, and waste products, and can also play a role in maintaining turgor pressure. Chloroplasts, found in plant and algal cells, are the sites of photosynthesis.

Prokaryotic cells, being simpler in structure, lack membrane-bound organelles. Their genetic material is located in a region called the nucleoid. Key structures present include the cell wall, which provides structural support and protection; the cell membrane, regulating the passage of substances; ribosomes, responsible for protein synthesis; and often flagella or pili for motility or attachment.

The coordinated activity of these cellular structures is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis, growth, reproduction, and response to environmental stimuli, ultimately enabling the functioning of all living organisms.
