Sebaceózní is a term used to describe something related to or resembling sebum, the oily, waxy substance produced by the sebaceous glands in the skin of mammals. Sebaceous glands are microscopic exocrine glands that are attached to hair follicles and secrete sebum onto the skin and into the hair follicle. This secretion helps to lubricate and waterproof the skin and hair, preventing them from drying out and becoming brittle.

Conditions or structures described as sebaceózní often involve an overproduction or abnormal accumulation of sebum. For example, acne is a common skin condition where the sebaceous glands become plugged with sebum and dead skin cells, leading to inflammation and the formation of pimples. Similarly, seborrheic dermatitis is a chronic inflammatory skin condition characterized by flaky, white to yellowish scales on oily areas such as the scalp, face, and chest, which is also linked to the activity of sebaceous glands.
