sandkornene
Sandkornene are small rock fragments or mineral grains with typical diameters between 0.0625 and 2 millimeters. Most sandkornene consist mainly of quartz (silica), but they can also include feldspars, micas, lithic fragments and, occasionally, heavy minerals such as zircon or magnetite. The shape of sandkornene ranges from angular to well-rounded, depending on how far they have been transported and how much energy the transport medium imparted. The degree of sorting describes how uniform the grain sizes are within a sand sample.
Sandkornene originate from the weathering and breakdown of rocks, and they are moved by wind, rivers, waves
In human use, quartz-rich sandkornene are valuable for glassmaking and other industrial applications. Handling silica-containing dust
