Samopoziomujące is a term used in construction to describe materials and systems that level themselves with minimal manual guidance, typically under the influence of gravity. In common practice it refers to self-leveling compounds or masy samopoziomujące, which are ready-to-use, flowable mortars or coatings applied to uneven floor slabs to create a flat, smooth surface before finishing floors such as tiles, vinyl, wood, or carpet.

There are several main types. Cementitious self-leveling compounds are based on cement with polymers, fillers and additives that control flow and set. Polymer-based formulations, including epoxy or polyurethane systems, provide rapid leveling and different performance characteristics such as chemical resistance or improved flexibility. Some products are compatible with underfloor heating and can be used as an underlayment layer.

Applications typically include leveling concrete or screeded floors, repairing uneven slabs, and preparing substrates for decorative or protective floor coverings. Proper surface preparation is essential: substrates must be clean, dry, and free of loose material; priming may be required to improve adhesion; correct mixing ratios and controlled pouring are important to achieve an even thickness.

Advantages of self-leveling materials include faster installation, the ability to create a very smooth and uniform base, and reduced manual leveling efforts. They can fill small surface irregularities and accommodate minor cracks within specified tolerances. Limitations include sensitivity to substrates with excessive movement or moisture, cost compared with traditional leveling methods, and the need for proper curing conditions and application technique to avoid defects.
