This technique relies on the differential absorption of X-rays by different tissues. When X-rays pass through the body, denser structures like bones absorb more radiation than softer tissues like muscle or organs. The remaining X-rays, which have passed through the body, strike a detector or photographic plate, creating an image that reflects these absorption differences.
