råbitumen
Råbitumen, also known as crude bitumen or natural bitumen, is a naturally occurring, viscous, tar-like petroleum deposit. It is found in massive accumulations within porous rock formations, often referred to as oil sands or tar sands. Unlike conventional crude oil, which can be pumped and refined relatively easily, råbitumen is too viscous to flow under normal reservoir conditions. Its extraction and processing therefore require specialized techniques.
The origin of råbitumen is similar to that of conventional crude oil, formed from the remains of
The largest known deposits of råbitumen are found in Alberta, Canada, and Venezuela. Due to its thick
