Rákfajta is a Hungarian term that translates to "type of crab" or "crab species." It is a general classification used to describe various kinds of decapod crustaceans belonging to the infraorder Brachyura, commonly known as true crabs. These marine and freshwater animals are characterized by their thick exoskeleton, a single pair of claws (chelae), and four pairs of walking legs.

The term rákfajta encompasses a wide array of species, each with distinct physical characteristics, habitats, and ecological roles. Some well-known examples include the edible crab (Cancer pagurus), the blue crab (Callinectes sapidus), and the king crab (Paralithodes camtschaticus), although the latter is technically a lithodid crab and not a true crab.
