Rongijaam is a traditional dance form originating from the state of Assam in India. It is performed by the Bodo community, who are an indigenous ethnic group in the region. The dance is characterized by its energetic and vibrant movements, often accompanied by traditional Bodo music and instruments such as the dhol, a double-headed drum, and the pepa, a small hand drum. Rongijaam is typically performed during festivals and celebrations, and it often depicts scenes from daily life, folklore, or historical events.

The dance involves a group of performers who move in a circular formation, with the leader, known as the "rongi," at the center. The rongi wears a distinctive headdress adorned with feathers and other decorative elements, and they lead the dance with intricate footwork and hand gestures. The other performers, known as the "rongijaams," follow the rongi's movements, creating a synchronized and harmonious display.

Rongijaam is not only a cultural expression but also a means of preserving the Bodo community's heritage and traditions. It has been recognized by the Government of India as an important intangible cultural heritage of Assam.
