rikastuma

Rikastuma is an Estonian verb that means to become rich or to grow wealthier. It primarily denotes an increase in financial resources, but it can also be used figuratively to describe enrichment of non-material things, such as knowledge or opportunities. The action is intransitive, describing a change in the subject’s state rather than an action performed on an object.

It is derived from the adjective rikas (rich) with the suffix -tuma, and has a related causative verb rikastama (to enrich or to make rich). The related noun forms include rikastumine (enrichment, the process of becoming rich) and rikastaja (one who enriches). In modern Estonian, rikastuma is conjugated regularly; present tense forms include rikastun, rikastud, rikastub, rikastume, rikastute, rikastuvad.
