Reumalääkkeet, also known as antirheumatic drugs, are a class of medications used to treat rheumatic diseases. They can help to prevent joint damage and slow disease progression over time. Biologics, a newer type of DMARD, are genetically engineered proteins that target specific molecules in the immune system involved in inflammation. The choice of reumalääke depends on the specific rheumatic disease, its severity, and the individual patient's characteristics and response to treatment.
