Rasvakoed is a Finnish term that translates to adipose tissue or body fat. Adipose tissue is a connective tissue found throughout the body that stores energy in the form of fat. It is composed of adipocytes, also known as fat cells. While often associated with excess weight, adipose tissue plays several crucial roles in the body.

There are two main types of adipose tissue: white adipose tissue and brown adipose tissue. White adipose tissue is the most common type and serves primarily as an energy reserve. Maintaining a healthy balance of adipose tissue is therefore important for overall health.
