Raportites are a hypothetical mineral species described in theoretical and educational mineralogy, belonging to the silicate family. The name is derived from the idea of a linked crystal framework emphasized in its proposed structure. No verified natural specimens are known.

In the preferred model, raportites are a mixed-valence silicate with a three-dimensional framework of linked silicate tetrahedra. The arrangement is described as a network with alternating layers and channels that can host small interstitial cations. The chemical formula is not fixed, as the concept focuses on structural relationships and charge balance within the framework.

Crystal symmetry and appearance are typically discussed as part of simulated data, with raportites described as forming prismatic crystals, often in monoclinic or orthorhombic settings in theoretical models. They are said to have a vitreous luster, color ranging from colorless to pale yellow, and a Mohs hardness around 6. Cleavage is reported as functionally absent or imperfect; fracture is commonly conchoidal.

Occurrence and formation: since no natural samples have been reported, raportites exist only in hypothetical hydrothermal or metamorphic scenarios used in thought experiments to illustrate how complex silicate frameworks accommodate various cations and phase relations.

Classification and status: Raportites are not recognized as a valid mineral by major authorities such as the International Mineralogical Association and are not listed in standard databases.
