Rajarajat refers to the highest rank of the traditional Malla kings of the Kathmandu Valley. It was one of the highest titles of honor in medieval Nepal. The title was officially recognized by the neighboring kingdoms and was bestowed upon the Malla rulers during the Pre-Domination period (14th to 18th centuries) and during the Malla period.

A Rajarajat was typically responsible for ensuring the overall prosperity and governance of the kingdom through a fair and just administration. This included maintaining law and order, promoting trade, education, and arts, and maintaining diplomatic relations with neighboring kingdoms. The king's role was also to ensure the well-being of his subjects and to ensure the continuation of his dynasty.

The proclamations of the Malla Kingdom at the time highlighted their reliance on virtue, domestic and foreign policies, and a pristine and spotless governance system. In literature, such as Karunamaya Satakatraya and Chuda Purana, the Malla kings are praised as extremely decent, pure-hearted rulers.

Additionally, the Rajarajat wore ceremonial clothes and jewelry associated with their position, including a polymorphic sword and went on sacred pilgrimages to famous sites. There were occasions when two brothers held the position, this happened mostly in Bhadgaon.
