Radioterapeutiline refers to the application of ionizing radiation for the treatment of malignant diseases, commonly known as cancer. This therapeutic modality utilizes high-energy particles or waves to damage the DNA of cancer cells, inhibiting their growth and division, and ultimately leading to their death. Radiotherapy can be administered in various ways, either externally, where a machine directs radiation beams from outside the body towards the tumor, or internally, where radioactive sources are placed directly inside or near the tumor.
