Radiaalvõrk, also known as a radial network or star network, is a computer network topology in which all peripheral nodes are connected to a central node. This central node acts as a hub or switch, facilitating communication between all other devices on the network. If a peripheral node needs to send data to another peripheral node, it first sends the data to the central node, which then forwards it to the intended recipient.

The primary advantage of a radial network is its simplicity in installation and management. Adding or removing devices is straightforward, as it only requires connecting or disconnecting a single cable to the central hub. Troubleshooting is also relatively easy, as a failure in a peripheral node or its cable typically only affects that specific device and does not bring down the entire network. The central node is a single point of failure; if it malfunctions, the entire network becomes inoperable.

Radial networks are commonly found in small office/home office (SOHO) environments and in many modern home networks where devices connect wirelessly or via Ethernet cables to a central router or access point. Despite its potential for a single point of failure, its ease of use and cost-effectiveness make it a popular choice for many applications. The performance of a radial network can be dependent on the capacity of the central node.
