The pulssiDopplerin, or pulsed Doppler, is a technique used in Doppler ultrasonography. It is a type of ultrasound that measures the velocity of blood flow. Unlike continuous wave Doppler, which can only detect the presence of flow and its maximum velocity, pulsed Doppler can determine the velocity of blood flow at specific locations within the body. This is achieved by sending out short bursts of ultrasound waves, or pulses, and then listening for the reflected echoes. By measuring the time it takes for the echoes to return and analyzing the Doppler shift, the velocity of the blood cells moving within that specific sample volume can be calculated.
