Not a diagnosable disorder in current manuals, psykometrisia is instead a concept that highlights interaction effects between assessment and mind. It encompasses elements such as demand characteristics, response bias, measurement fatigue, item priming, and feedback loops that can change motivation, arousal, or self-concept during testing.

Manifestations may include shifts in self-report intensity, performance changes tied to testing conditions rather than underlying traits, and uneven data quality across different assessment contexts. Researchers consider psykometrisia when designing longitudinal or adaptive assessments to minimize spillover effects and to interpret data with an awareness of how the measurement environment might influence outcomes.

In mainstream psychology, the empirical status of psykometrisia is debated.
