Beyond aviation and shipping, propeller-driven concepts appear in experimental ground vehicles and hobbyist projects, though most practical propulsion for cars has shifted toward electric or other alternatives in many applications. Ongoing research on counter-rotating propellers, ducted fans, and laminar-blade designs seeks to improve efficiency and reduce noise. Overall, propeller-driven propulsion remains a common solution for low- to medium-speed propulsion with good efficiency at moderate power.
