procentowe

Procentowe is a Polish adjective derived from the noun procent (percent). It describes quantities, rates, or proportions expressed as a percentage. The form agrees with the noun it modifies and is used across mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, and everyday language. Common phrases include wartości procentowe (percent values), zmiana procentowa (percentage change), wzrost procentowy (percentage increase), and udział procentowy (percentage share).

In usage, procentowe is often contrasted with punkty procentowe (percentage points). The difference lies in the scale: percentage points measure absolute differences in percent, while percentages express relative changes. For example, an increase from 3% to 4% is a rise of 1 percentage point, not a 1% increase.

Procentowe appears frequently in official statistics, financial reports, academic writing, and media when precise expressions of proportion are required. It is also common in labeling, market research, epidemiology, and other fields where rates such as vaccination coverage, unemployment, or incidence are reported as percentages.
