Preservatietoestand is a Dutch term that refers to the preservation status of cultural heritage objects, buildings, monuments and other tangible heritage. It describes the current condition of a heritage item and the extent to which it conforms to the statutory and professional requirements for conservation.

The assessment of preservatietoestand is carried out according to national regulations and guidelines issued by the Dutch Ministry of Culture and the Heritage Agency. Assessors examine structural soundness, material composition, historical value, integrity of the original fabric and any alterations that have taken place over time.
