pracujúci
Pracujúci is a present active participle of the Slovak verb pracovať (to work). It functions as an adjective and, when used as a noun, to denote people who work or are employed. The participle is formed with the suffix -ujúci and declines like an adjective: masculine singular nominative pracujúci; feminine singular pracujúca; neuter singular pracujúce; and the plural forms follow the usual adjective endings. In use, it describes someone who is currently performing work or who is employed, for example pracujúci človek (a working man), pracujúca žena (a working woman), or pracujúci študent (a working student). As a noun, pracujúci can refer to the employed or working class in sociological or historical contexts, often in the phrase pracujúci ľud. In contemporary Slovak, it appears in descriptive and formal language and in official discourse. The opposite is nepracujúci (not working, unemployed). The term is commonly translated as "working" or "employed" depending on context. Because it is a participle, it carries aspectual nuance related to the ongoing nature of the activity, though in many contexts it is used simply as a normal adjective or noun.
