Potmaat is a term used in horticulture, particularly in Dutch-speaking contexts, to denote the size of a plant pot. It is typically expressed as the inner diameter of the pot opening in centimeters and serves as a practical descriptor for root space and soil volume.

The potmaat refers to the internal diameter at the top rim. The actual capacity of a pot also depends on its depth and shape, so two pots with the same diameter may hold different volumes. In practice, nurseries and garden centers list common potmaten such as 6 cm, 9 cm, 12 cm, 15 cm, 20 cm, and larger, with variations between plastic, ceramic, and terracotta pots.
