The term "posztulátuma" is the plural form of the Hungarian word "posztulátum." In a philosophical and mathematical context, a postulate is a statement or proposition that is assumed to be true without proof, serving as a starting point for logical reasoning. These are fundamental assumptions upon which a system of thought or theory is built.

Historically, Euclid's postulates in geometry are a classic example. These foundational statements, such as "a straight line can be drawn between any two points," were accepted as self-evident truths and formed the basis for his entire system of geometry. The acceptance of postulates is crucial because it's impossible to prove every single statement; at some point, one must begin with accepted premises.
